01
Why a guesthouse over a hotel
A guesthouse has a human scale a hotel does not, staff who recognise you by day two, breakfast where a conversation can happen, and a pool and garden shared with a handful of guests rather than hundreds. Travelling alone, that difference is worth more than any amenity list.
02
Moving around alone
The consistent advice from independent sources applies doubly when solo: a metered ride hailing service or the Gautrain rather than informal transport, arranged cars after dark, valuables out of sight. Rivonia Village being a five minute walk means daytime errands do not need a car at all.
03
Someone to actually ask
Reception can give current, local guidance, which restaurant to book, when to leave for the airport, whether an area is fine to walk right now, the kind of question a solo traveller otherwise has to guess at.
